3D glasses or potential disinfection hazard

Do your eyes feel swollen and itchy after watching 3D movies? That may be due to acute keratitis and other eye infections. At the end of the year, blockbusters piled up, and movie lovers noticed that 3D glasses provided by cinemas were likely to become carriers of eye infectious diseases due to incomplete disinfection.

Recently, the health supervision department of Maanshan City, Anhui Province inspected the use and disinfection of 3D glasses in eight cinemas in the city, and found that seven of them used non disposable 3D glasses, but there were certain hidden dangers in the specific disinfection: some overlapped the glasses when using ultraviolet disinfection, which affected the disinfection effect; Some simply scrub with ordinary eyewear cloth or paper towel; Some did not disinfect on site; There are even individual cinemas that do not have disinfection places or incomplete disinfection records, so it is impossible to judge whether the glasses are disinfected.

Ophthalmologists point out that public 3D glasses fail to be disinfected, which can easily become a “carrier” of eye infectious diseases. For example, the former wearer has red eye disease and other infectious diseases through contact, and the latter user has a very high risk of infection. Therefore, experts suggest that it is best to bring your own 3D glasses when watching movies. If you use public glasses, you should pay attention to whether the glasses are clean. You can also bring alcohol cotton balls or disinfectant paper towels for simple wiping. Do not rub your eyes with your hands during watching movies. Wash your hands in time after watching movies.
