Avoid four misunderstandings when using air purifiers

Recently, northern China has been hit by smog. People spend 80% of their time indoors, so many families buy air purifiers. However, some purifiers are not as “divine” as imagined, which is not only related to the quality of purifiers, but also due to misunderstandings in use.

To achieve the ideal purification effect of the whole house, the air purifier should be placed away from the wall or furniture, preferably in the center of the house or at least 1.5 ~ 2 meters away from the wall. Otherwise, the air flow generated by the purifier will be blocked, resulting in smaller purification range and poorer efficiency. In addition, placing against the wall will also absorb the dirty things hidden in the corner, which will affect the service life of the purifier.

When the purifier is working, there are many harmful gases around. Therefore, it should not be placed too close to people, but should be properly raised to avoid children’s contact. The electrostatic adsorption type purifier can adsorb pollutants in the air on the electrode plate during operation. However, if the design is not reasonable enough, a small amount of ozone will be released, and exceeding a certain amount will stimulate the respiratory system. When using this purifier, people had better not stay in the room and turn it off after entering the room, because ozone can be quickly reduced in the space and will not stay for a long time.

Just as the mask must be replaced if it is dirty, the filter screen of the purifier should be replaced in time. Even if the air quality is good, the use of the filter screen should not exceed half a year, otherwise, harmful substances will be released after the filter material is saturated, and it will become a “pollution source”.

In addition to the purifier, large leafy green plants such as lvluo and Chlorophytum comosum can also be placed in the room, which have certain adsorption functions and can reduce indoor dust and PM2.5. In addition, the dry indoor air in winter will increase PM2.5. Therefore, humidifiers can also be used to ensure indoor humidity and reduce pollution.
