Reading glasses should be changed every three years

Most people have bad eyes when they are old. Recently, a new study published in the journal visual science shows that only 16% of the elderly have normal vision. Poor eyesight is an important cause of a series of life problems such as the elderly falling down and afraid to go out. However, most of the elderly are indifferent to the problem of eyesight. Some misconceptions about using eyes and matching glasses make the elderly’s eyes more and more dazzling.

Presbyopia is caused by the aging and degradation of the structure and function of the eyeball, but vision is not necessarily presbyopia after aging. Before wearing presbyopic glasses, you should go to the hospital to have a comprehensive examination of your eyes, including hyperopia, myopia, intraocular pressure and fundus examination. After cataract, glaucoma and some fundus diseases are excluded, you can determine the diopter through optometry. Try to have optometry and optional lenses in hospital ophthalmology or regular optical shops. Try them on for about half an hour after selection, and process them into shape after there is no discomfort. Some old people can’t see clearly from far to near, so they need to be equipped with two pairs of glasses. They can also choose multifocal gradual change lenses with increasing diopters from top to bottom. The upper part is suitable for seeing far and the lower part is suitable for seeing near, which is more convenient to use.

I change my reading glasses every three years. With the increase of age, the degree of presbyopia will also deepen. Once the presbyopia glasses are not suitable, they must be replaced in time, otherwise the presbyopia will be accelerated. It is recommended to have an optometry every three years. If the presbyopia lens has scratches, aging and other phenomena, it will cause a decrease in luminous flux and affect the imaging quality of the lens. It should also be replaced in time.

You can’t use a magnifying glass instead of reading glasses. When reading a book or newspaper, some old people like to hold a magnifying glass instead of reading glasses. Although they can see clearly, they are actually conniving at their own eyes. If the magnifying glass is converted into reading glasses, it is equivalent to 1000-2000 degrees. Long term use of the magnifying glass will make the eyesight worse and worse, and it is difficult to get used to it later.

In daily life, the elderly should eat more green vegetables and fruits, which is conducive to the regeneration of rhodopsin, an important protein in the retina. Always gently rub the eyes with clean hands. When massaging, bend the index fingers of both hands, and then horizontally rub them from the inner eye to the outer corner of the eye, and then from the outer corner of the eye to the inner corner of the eye; Press the temple with the tip of your index finger several times, morning and evening, not only to delay presbyopia, but also to prevent and treat chronic eye disease.
