At present, there are many kinds of wet wipes with different uses on the market, which can be classified into two categories. One category is ordinary wet wipes that are disinfected but can not disinfect other items. They contain skin care ingredients and can only be used to moisturize and maintain the skin. The other type is not only disinfected, but also can disinfect other items. Generally, disinfection or sterilization ingredients will be indicated on the package.
Disinfecting wipes can be used to clean hands, tables and chairs before and after meals or when there is no water and soap, but their role is limited to this. Because the ingredients contained in some disinfectant wipes also affect the human body, such as chlorine, bleach, alcohol, etc., these ingredients will not be indicated on the package, but will irritate the skin, mucosa, eyes, damage the sebum film that protects the skin, and frequent use will make the skin dry. Therefore, it cannot be used to directly wipe eyes, wounds and private parts.
Most of the women’s care wipes are added with antibacterial drugs, claiming that “they can clean private parts, avoid bacterial breeding, refresh and avoid taste.” But it is not recommended that women often use it to wipe their private parts. Although it can play a bacteriostatic role to a certain extent, it can not kill bacteria. On the contrary, it will break the original acid-base balance in women and cause various gynecological diseases.
Baby’s skin is very delicate, so baby wipes are more demanding than adult wipes. Baby wipes are divided into ordinary wipes (for wiping the buttocks) and special wipes for hands and mouth. Alcohol, essence, preservative, fluorescent agent, etc. cannot be added to baby wipes, but they cannot be taken lightly. Especially for babies who love to eat their hands, they should not frequently wipe their hands with wet wipes, but can wipe them with gauze or towel dipped in warm water.
When choosing wet wipes, pay attention to the fact that high-quality wet wipes have a soft fragrance without any irritating smell, while low-quality wet wipes have obvious irritating smell. Generally speaking, high-quality wipes mostly use non-woven fabrics, which are soft and white in texture and free of impurities. Poor quality wipes will have obvious impurities. When used, high-quality wipes will not bristle, while poor quality wipes will obviously bristle, which is irritating to the skin and easy to make people feel itchy. If the skin feels itchy and painful after use, it should be stopped immediately. Before buying baby wipes, try them on the back of your hand to see if they have obvious alcohol irritation.
