Incorrect walking posture affects brain development

Internationally, gait training is an important topic for the rehabilitation of patients with encephalopathy. Dr. Deng Jingyuan, director of the Department of encephalopathy of the rehabilitation center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University Medical College, Shaanxi Province, said that many patients with encephalopathy have recovered their brain functions through effective walking training, which shows how important it is to walk correctly.

Dr. Deng said that walking with your head up and your chest up is beneficial to the circulation of blood and blood around your body and your brain. That is to say, walking with your head up and your chest up is an opportunity for your brain to rest. This posture changes the state of working with your head down to the state of “Yang Qi rising”. It just compensates for the tension caused to your brain by working with your head down and the poor circulation of blood and blood. The result of walking with low head is that Yang Qi does not rise, which affects the normal blood supply of the brain.

When a person walks, the seven meridians and eight meridians of his whole body move together, and the posture of walking with chest and bending down just makes these meridians not relax well, and the body can not get the oxygen supply it deserves. In addition, the spinal problems caused by this walking posture will be reflected to the brain, which makes the brain tense no matter when people are working at their desks or walking. This unrelenting tension during the day will cause brain fatigue and affect sleep at night.

The same is true of the walking posture of the inner and outer splays. The outer splays obstruct the Yang Meridian, tense the blood of the liver, spleen and kidney, and obstruct the blood flow, affecting the supply of blood to the brain, resulting in poor blood return to the brain. The internal eight characters affect the channels and collaterals of the gallbladder, stomach and bladder, and these channels and collaterals are all around the spine. The lack of Qi and blood around the spine also affects the circulation of blood in the brain.

The walking posture of side neck and oblique shoulder often manifested by teenagers will affect the blood circulation of the Du vessels, resulting in poor blood circulation and Yang Qi.

Dr. Deng suggested that to correct bad walking posture, we should first correct our standing posture. You can check yourself in front of a big mirror at home. When people look in the mirror, they can’t help but look up. Then, when walking, he intends to keep a correct posture, so as not to deviate or lean forward.

The correct posture when walking should be that your eyes are flat in front, your head is slightly raised, your neck is straight, your chest is naturally forward and upward, your waist is straight, your lower abdomen is closed, and your hips are slightly backward. The thrust point of pedaling after walking is focused on the inside of the metatarsophalangeal joint.
