How to choose an air purifier?

Originally, I thought that as a consumer, I had done enough research on air purifiers. Recently, I read several articles about air purifiers that my acquaintances exposed each other’s shortcomings on the topic of air purifiers, and I found that there were so many tricks in such a mature product… Putting aside price, appearance, after-sales and other factors, in terms of performance, the most important thing in choosing air purifiers is to pay attention to these three key words:

1.HEPA

The guidelines for some allergic diseases also mention the need to use HEPA purifiers. This is actually the filter standard of the filter screen, which is defined by the US Department of energy. I personally suggest that you recognize only these four letters. Unless it is ULPA (better filtering effect), it is not allowed to describe EPA, HEPA type, HEPA style, etc.

2.CADR

This is basically the most important reference index, that is, the clean air efficiency of the air purifier. Obviously, the larger the value, the better. However, first of all, we should pay attention to the unit. The standard of AHAM is CFM (cubic foot / minute), while the unit indicated in the advertisements of most domestic manufacturers is m3 / h (cubic meter / hour). The value obtained by multiplying the former by 1.7 is almost equivalent to the latter. In other words, if a manufacturer advertises 450m3 / h, it sounds like a large value, but after conversion, it is 264.7cfm. Secondly, Cadr is the “efficiency” of “clean” air. Don’t be confused by the so-called “ventilation”. Finally, the test conditions of American standards and our national standards are not exactly the same, so they cannot be directly equated.

3. Noise

Now there are more and more air purifiers on the market, and manufacturers all know the above two indicators. However, if the air duct is not designed reasonably and the motor quality is not good enough, the noise is often difficult to control, and you will definitely not drive to the maximum gear when you buy it. At this time, the so-called Cadr value is meaningless. On the one hand, you can see the product introduction, and on the other hand, you can search for some evaluations on the Internet.

Having said so much, the most important point to reduce the harm of air pollution is not smoking. The Shenzhen Center for chronic disease prevention and control did an experiment. After smoking three cigarettes in a room of 35 square meters, the average concentration of PM2.5 quickly rose to 966 micrograms / cubic meter. The World Health Organization points out that the global tobacco epidemic causes nearly 6 million deaths every year, of which more than 600000 are non-smokers who breathe second-hand smoke. Therefore, quitting smoking is the most important thing. How long can your life burn if you smoke too much?
