5 kinds of daily necessities, second-hand ones are healthier

Not everything is as new as possible. According to the US “Yahoo” website, buying second-hand things will greatly reduce the probability of being attacked by toxic substances and save money, killing two birds with one stone. The following five daily necessities may as well try to choose second-hand goods.

Furniture. The harmful substances produced by new furniture, mainly free formaldehyde, are easy to cause dizziness, nausea and even cancer. After new furniture is used or left vacant for 3-6 months, harmful gases will basically volatilize. Buying second-hand furniture can avoid environmental pollution.

Books. Some books do not use environmentally friendly ink, especially some pirated books. Ink thinner has skin irritation and toxicity. The ink contains lead, which will weaken human immunity. Second hand books do not have the above worries, and harmful substances will gradually disappear over time.

Children’s clothing. The baby’s colorful and expensive clothes may hide a health crisis. Children’s bodies are very delicate. If they inhale the formaldehyde component on clothes dyes, they are prone to fatigue, insomnia, headache, cough and other symptoms. Long term skin contact with formaldehyde will also cause skin rash. Because second-hand clothes have been washed repeatedly, formaldehyde and other harmful substances will be washed away. Therefore, for the health of the baby, the best way is to “pick up” the leftover clothes of the children around.

Cars. The harmful substances emitted from the interior of the new car have a great impact on the human body, mainly including benzene, toluene, xylene, formaldehyde, inhalable particles, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, bacteria, mold and dozens of other harmful substances, which is the reason why many people feel dizzy when driving a new car. It should be reminded that used cars within one year may also have pollution risks. It is recommended to buy used cars three or four years old.

Fitness Equipment. When many people use the brand-new treadmill and massager, they will have the feeling that “I don’t know where it squeaks” and “it’s very axial and laborious”. Like new cars, fitness equipment also needs to be run in. After three months to half a year, all parts need to be run in before they can operate freely. Therefore, as long as there is no shortage of parts and the function is normal, second-hand fitness equipment is the best choice.
