Refuse to stay up late, starting from a young age

Sleep is an important factor to maintain energy, maintain and improve physical health. Internationally, March 21 is designated as “world sleep day”. With the process of industrialization and urbanization, the traditional lifestyle of “working at sunrise and resting at sunset” is being challenged. The fast-paced and high-pressure lifestyle makes people’s sleep time continuously reduced.

The central leadership also attaches great importance to the problem of sleep. “Young people should not stay up late all the time,” said Xi dada in a discussion with the students of the study class for county Party secretaries of the Central Party school. He mentioned that staying up late when he was young led to poor health and expressed his feelings. Indeed, adequate sleep is important for health and work efficiency.

An experiment conducted in mice found that if they did not sleep for more than 6 days, the mice would suffer from dyskinesia until the brain wave voltage decreased and disappeared and died. Compared with mice, humans are more dependent on sleep. A person can survive for 7 days by drinking water and not eating, but only 4 days by not sleeping.

I sleep every day, but there are many problems. The who survey of 25916 people in 15 regions in 14 countries found that 27% of them had sleep problems. It is reported that the incidence of insomnia in the United States is as high as 32% ~ 50%, the United Kingdom is 10% ~ 14%, Japan is 20%, and France is 30%.

The survey on nutrition and health status of Chinese residents found that among Chinese residents, 69.0%, 58.5%, 4.1%, 9.2% and 17.1% of the people aged 6-12, 13-17, 18-44, 45-59 and 60 years and above were sleep deprived, respectively. The proportion of urban residents was higher than that of rural residents. It seems that sleep quality does not improve with the improvement of living standards. Multi millionaires may not sleep better and soundly on Simmons’ bed with gold quilt than old farmers on hard earthen Kang covered with coarse cotton quilt.

Lack of sleep will reduce the immunity of the human body, reduce the ability of disease resistance and recovery, easily catch a cold, aggravate other diseases or induce the onset of existing diseases, such as cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, hypertension and other diseases. Practice has also proved that if patients do not sleep well after surgery, the time for wound healing will be significantly prolonged. If children suffer from severe lack of sleep, their physical development may be affected. Because during sleep, especially during deep sleep, children’s brain secretes the most growth hormone, which is the main substance to promote children’s bone growth.

Primary and secondary school students are in an important period of education and physical and mental development. Adequate sleep is not only of physiological significance to eliminate fatigue and recover physical strength, but also of special significance to promote normal growth and development. Lack of sleep can make students difficult to concentrate, memory loss, affect brain development, and even cause serious physical and mental diseases. The reasons for children’s lack of sleep are, on the one hand, that children’s learning burden is heavy, especially in urban areas, parents’ expectations of children are getting higher and higher, and children are allowed to attend various cram schools and tutorial classes; On the other hand, it may also be related to children watching TV or participating in other entertainment activities at night. We should implement quality education and lighten the burden of students; Parents should also appropriately lower their expectations of their children, reduce their children’s participation in tutorial classes, and cultivate their children to develop good sleep habits, so as to facilitate their healthy growth.

The problems of insufficient sleep time and excessive sleep time coexist in Chinese adults. Studies have found that people with insufficient sleep time and too much sleep time are more likely to suffer from impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes, which are also important factors for the increase of cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality. Many adults are facing the dual pressure of family and work. They not only have to take care of the elderly and children, but also are the main force in their work. However, it should be realized that only good sleep can lead to good working conditions.

tips:

Insufficient sleep time: 6-12 years old sleep less than 10 hours a day, 13-17 years old sleep less than 9 hours a day, 18 years old and above residents sleep less than 7 hours a day.

Excessive sleep time: residents aged 18 and above sleep for 9 hours or more every day.
