Algae are good for dinner

A joint survey by the University of Bristol and the Open University in the United Kingdom pointed out that it is expected that the world population will rise to 9.8 billion by 2050, and the demand for food will increase by 60% compared with the present. At that time, food from the sea will play a very important role. However, the increase of pollution and carbon dioxide has made the Ocean warm and sour, and about 90% of the world’s fish resources have been seriously depleted. Bringing algae to people’s daily diet can not only protect marine health, improve marine biodiversity, but also provide food for mankind.

The survey, published on the British “dialogue” news network, believes that the warming and acidification of the oceans have killed a lot of microorganisms and plankton, and the number of fish that feed on them has also decreased dramatically. If algae can be planted in the right way and become a daily diet on people’s tables, it will not only alleviate the negative impact of climate change on the food chain, but also regulate the oxygen and nutrients in seawater and promote the health of the ocean.
